Some horror films are good. Most are only films the actors starring in them could love…and sometimes not even then! Weirdly enough some of rap’s biggest names consistently get caught up in these awful films they should’ve never been in the first place. This list chronicles the best of the worst.
5. Coolio- Dracula 3000: Infinite Darkness
You know when an idea sounds good on paper? Dracula 3000 was totally it. One of the spookiest stories of all time retold in the middle of space? Sounds awesome right? Spoiler alert…it wasn’t. Cheesy acting, terrible special effects (it was 2004!) and a nonsensical story couldn’t save this one from the bargain bin. Coolio plays a comedic relief (who does have a few laughs) who turns into a vampire. Something tells me he slid, slid, slippity slid his copy of this film under his bed to be forgotten.
4. Busta Rhymes- Halloween Resurrection
Halloween was an awesome series that just went on way…wayyyyyy too long. In Halloween Resurrection (the films 8th installment) Michael Myers crashes the set of a reality TV show. It was the early 2000’s and people thought reality television would last forever (they might have been right honestly) and Busta Rhymes played Freddie, the guy who had a devious plan to scare all the housemates out of the show so he could win. Freddie is going to dress like Michael Myers and scare everyone out, but then the real Michael Myers shows up and starts killing people.
This film was ridiculous on so many levels…mainly because of this fight scene. Did he seriously set things off by doing the same headbutt he did in the “Break Ya Neck” music video?!
3. DMX- The Bleeding
Don’t remember this film? Don’t worry, likely no one does. This one was a straight to DVD masterpiece and honestly one that I will absolutely be watching when I can find a copy of it! Just watch this clip and die laughing like I did.
2. Snoop Dogg’s Hood Of Horror
Definitely the one on the list that we’ve all seen…or at least heard of. The whole concept was ridiculous but funny at the same time. Honestly this is probably the best film on the list. If you haven’t seen it…do yourself a favor and check it out.
1. Ice T- Leprachaun In The Hood
By far and above the most ridiculous. He gets a Leprechaun high…what more do I need to say?!
