Looks like learning to write in cursive could be on it’s way out of Indiana schools if lawmakers decide to remove it soon. Is it really necessary? Some Indianapolis teachers will be attending on a workshop highlighting it’s importance this weekend called Handwriting Without Tears. Those who defend the style of writing cite children who know cursive writing score higher on SAT’s and need the skill to make a proper signature.
My whole deal is with everything going digital…what good is a signature anymore? A signature doesn’t keep my credit card from getting stolen anymore…so what do I really need it for?! I’ll be honest I have nothing against cursive but I haven’t used it since grade school…and my cursive was so bad my teachers in high school made me print my responses! I can’t be alone in this one can I?
