Changes to Facebook: See more from your besties and less from the undesired

Give a big thumbs up to those who you are closely connected with and a thumbs down to those who frankly, annoy / clutter your News Feed on Facebook. Over the past year, the social media giant has implemented changes that include: allowing you to see more from your close friends, ditching the less-desirable, finding out what those you’ve “blocked” have been up to and finding new peeps who share your same interests.

One of the changes I have definitely been utilizing is the “Prioritize who to see first” option. It filters my News Feed so that I can see what my fave peeps are up to. It also filters OUT enough of the nonsense that I personally haven’t felt a need to mess with the other new settings. Adam Mosseri, the product manager for Facebook’s News Feed gave the best response to the new options in my opinion.

“We found from surveys and talking to people that they had FOMO, the fear of missing out,” said Mosseri. Who doesn’t get a little FOMO from time to time?!
