Governor Pence is making headlines today for excluding a thanks in his “Indy Pride letter” to the estimated 80,000 LGBT citizens and visitors who will come into our state capital and spend their money in support of Indiana. It’s a shame, as that money is not only supporting the city of Indianapolis, but programs integral to our states well being. Rest assured citizens and visitors to Indianapolis that WE are grateful for the support you are lending to this great event! Your money is helping not only the LGBT Hoosiers of Indiana, but all walks of life.
The Indy Pride festival is the largest financial fundraiser for Indy Pride Inc, an organization committed to helping not just the LGBT, but all communities in Central Indiana.
Your money will help them support Indiana Youth Group, which is a safe haven for LGBT teens to empower themselves, and help the community.
Your money will support the Damien Center and the Gregory Powers DEFA fund, which helps ALL in Central Indiana affected by AIDS. This is incredibly important as our governor himself declared central Indiana to have an “AIDS epidemic” this year.
Your money supports the businesses and media who stand against the state law instead “proudly serving all”.
Whether our governor will admit it or not, you are helping Indiana in a big way.
