Footage shows one victim, identified as Cle "Bone" Sloan, approach mogul's truck with what could be a gun.
A graphic video of what is said to be footage of the fatal hit-and-run that left one dead, one injured, and Suge Knight in jail without bail for murder and attempted murder was released online.
In under a minute, the video shows a man identified as Cle "Bone" Sloan immediately approach a red truck as it pulls into the parking lot of Tam's Burgers in Compton. He is gesturing emotionally before the driver backs up and clips him with the side of the vehicle. The driver then speeds up, no longer in reverse, and hits a man identified as Terry Carter, who was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Another person is then seen taking something off of Sloan's body –– a possible gun –– as Sloan lays injured in the street.
At least two other unidentified persons are seen as well, one who watches the incident unfold and another who walks up to scene and then promptly walks away.
Suge and his defense team believe the footage proves that the hit-and-run was an accident, that he was under attack, in fear of his life, and discombobulated when he fatally struck Carter, who was a friend of his.
The Death Row Records co-founder said he arrived at Tam's thinking he was there to make peace with Dr. Dre after he had been kicked out of a promo shooting for the N.W.A biopic, Staight Outta Compton, approximately 20 minutes before the incident.
Carter's family approved the public sharing of the footage by TMZ. "The Carter family is pleased you are releasing the video so the public can see what actually occurred and not be forced to speculate based on third party descriptions of the video," attorney Gary Dordick told the site. The part showing Carter get hit is blurred, it's "too gruesome," TMZ reports.
Suge is expected back in an L.A. courtroom Monday (March 9), after telling a judge that he fired his lawyers and was going blind, during his last appearance, earlier this month. He's been hospitalized several times since he was shot six times in August 2014.
